Vote for better trails!

The District 7 Participatory Budgeting Process is under way and ends this Friday 6/14/24.

Participatory Budgeting is where Supervisor Melgar asks her constituents for project ideas, then asks which ideas to fund.

One idea submitted by a neighbor was to improve the Marview Trail, which connects Marview Way with Twin Peaks Boulevard, connecting the Summit Reservoir with Twin Peaks. We think this is a great idea!

If you live in San Francisco Supervisorial District 7 (see map below) and are over 16 years old, you can vote. You need not be registered to vote in regular elections.

Vote today (and before June 14th). Tell all your friends in District 7 to vote as well.

You can vote for multiple projects, be sure to check the last checkbox to “Renovate Marview Way trail”.

Past trail projects funded this way included Phase II of the Laguna Honda Community Trail System and the Clarendon Crosswalk, which was just completed in May.

Here is the item:

15. Renovate Marview Way trail

  • Area: Midtown Terrace
  • Category: Public Safety and Resilience, Children and Seniors, Vision Zero and Pedestrian Safety, Neighborhood Beautification
  • Allocation: $49,000

We want to formalize a trail from Twin Peaks Blvd. to Mt. Sutro, via Marview Way. Some details include:

  • Removal of the old asphalt and reroute the path, following contours
  • Surfacing the new route with park tread
  • Seeding the adjacent thin soils with local native seeds

This will make our neighborhood trail an inviting and accessible spot for hikers, children, seniors, and bicyclists.
