Volunteer of the Month
SF Urban Riders has always recognized that its greatest strength was the overwhelming energy and support of the cycling community. It is time we officially honor the individuals who make SFUR special.
JUNE 2010 - Jon Palmer
Jon has been everywhere as a volunteer. Including many trail building events on Mount Sutro, a mechanic at bike build events, and recently at the SFUR booth at Ales to Trails at China Camp. Jon recently moved to Pacifica but still finds time to assist SFUR. That kind of dedication earns a gold star. In his downtime Jon races cyclocross.
JULY 2010 – Rezz Olution
Rezz is another member that finds a way to multi task for SFUR. He is a consistent trail work volunteer, and has attended several meetings in support of Mount Sutro and trails in general. Rezz plays bike polo and travels the globe by bicycle when not volunteering.
August 2010 – Jason Biteng
Jason started his SFUR career by showing up for a monthly group ride. Jason currently works at UCSF so it was not a hard step to take to volunteer on the Mount Sutro trails, where he is now a regular. Jason has continued to bring support to Bike Builds, and other SFUR events. Jason’s other form of transportation is a motorcycle.
September 2010 – Chris Ruedy
Chris is active bicycle advocate who works with many groups such as Forest Trails Alliance, and Access 4 Bikes. His efforts efforts locally with SFUR have been widespread including community meetings, trail crew leader, and videographer. Recently Chris became a member of the Sutro Stewards steering committee. Chris listens to bluegrass music and rides his bikes when not advocating.
