Maureen, ‘Mo” Devlin started riding her bike in the ‘burbs of Detroit for fun, for getting around, and never thought too much about it. Now she thinks about riding all the time:  how to make riding bikes better for going to work, having fun, for getting stuff done.  Though she considers herself a roadie, she is quite fond of her single speed mountain bike, as well as being a devoted (grass) bike polo player.  She is excited to help the SF Urban Riders promote the off-road cycling opportunities that San Francisco has or could easily develop.  She hopes to help create new or improved recreational opportunities, enabling people who probably already have bikes to feel comfortable and confident riding them in parks and roads alike.

Mo also serves on the Board of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and to fund her biking habit, is the Senior Accountant at the San Francisco County Transportation Authority.  She is also within months of completing an Executive MBA at San Francisco State University.   Her graduation present to herself will be a geared mountain bike.

Her focus now is improving organizations she works with. As an accountant and EMBA student, she brings years of business experience to SFUR’s board. Recently she wrote a new marketing plan for the Neighborhood Parks Council and collaborated with SFUR on their McLaren Park Proposal. This led to her eletion on SFUR’s board, where she is inspired by both the potential for SFUR to create and execute projects within San Francisco and the amazing potential for off-road cyclists to define themselves as a significant user group in San Francisco.
