Certainly our most ambitious project, SF Urban Riders has entered the concept phase of this partnership with SF Rec & Park. It will most likely take a few months to work through planning and approval, but all indicators are that it will move forward successfully. This 2-3 acre park will take advantage of space in an under utilized area of McLaren Park. The design is inspired by and will rival Seattle’s Colonnade bike park. If you aren’t familiar with the Colonnade, take a moment and view the video on the right hand side of this page.
This park, once developed, will be a unique draw to visitors from the Bay Area and beyond. It’s design will contain elements that will appeal to families with children just starting on bicycles, young adults seeking the thrills and velocity of a jump park, those seeking to improve their technical mountain biking skills, and everyone in between. It will feature beginner to advanced level bike features such as wood ramps, elevated teeters, dirt jumps, wall rides and pump tracks, and so much more.
