SF Urban Riders… To the Streets!

This just in from our satellite feed…

SF Urban Riders to make an official public appearance at the Excelsior Festival on Sunday, the 5th of October.  This is the first opportunity we’re going to have to reach out to the community as a whole to show, explain, and exemplify the benefits that a bike park will bring to San Francisco.

We plan to have a booth offering skills-based riding obstacles (ever try to ride 2×4’s masquerading as singletrack? Takes some finely honed balance. Wanna try? Come visit during the festival!), free bicycle repair, and of course, information on what we want to bring to the city, and how to support us.

That being said, we need:

Photographers,

Info Booth Staff,

Bike Techs (basic repairs only)

Skills Riders (we’d love to have a demo of some impressive flatlands or trials skills, if anyone knows anyone willing to donate time)

We’re currently working on print materials, and if any of you artists had some sparks of ideas you’d like to contribute, all the better.

Please consider a donating a couple hours of your time, coming out, meeting a few other SF Urban Riders, and if we have a well staffed booth, nothing to stop us from taking little field trips out on our bikes to romp in McLaren Park, just a couple blocks east of the festival, and co-incidentally the ideal location for our bike park.

Please RSVP with

info [at] sfurbanriders.org

Or of course, if you just show, we’ll be happy to see you there.
