SF Urban Riders has been working in tandem with the Mt. Sutro Stewards, UCSF and SF Park and Rec and other open space advocates to develop and build sustainable multi use trails throughout the steep forest of Mount Sutro Open Space. This remote 61 acre park in the geographic center of San Francisco is quickly becoming a favorite San Francisco Mountain Bike adventure. The current trail system has about 2.5 miles of sustainable multi use trail, with local connectors to Sutro Tower and Twin Peaks.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Just come and lend a hand during the monthly organized volunteer workdays the first Saturday of every month. Visit our Volunteer Page for more information. Trail work volunteerism is a great way to show mountain bikers are responsible and give back to the parks. It is also a great way to enjoy yourself outdoors, meet fellow recreationalists, and earn some free pizza and yummy beverages afterwards. Many thanks to the generous beverage sponsors who contribute to the SFUR Trail Program; including Beach Chalet Brewery, Thirsty Bear Brewing, Speakeasy Brewing and New Belgium Brewing who help Mt. Sutro Trails the absolute best way they can!
