I Build Trails
May 31st, 2009 | By dcrites | Category: Lead StoryMany thanks to UCSF, San Francisco Park and Rec, and Speakeasy Brewery, who all committed resources to help this last Saturday’s Trail work happen. Many more thanks to everyone who contributed to the start of a wonderful connector trail between Edgewood Avenue and the rest of the Sutro Trails. Over 70 volunteers showed up to pitch in, and though no formal survey was taken, it seemed as though ages ranged from 2 to 70. It doesn’t matter how old you are, trails in a parkland are always a wonderful thing. It was wonderful to see trails develop over the course of a few hours, and the area in which we were building is technically SF Rec and Park land, the beginning of building trails into the SF Greenbelt. Who knows, if we keep this up, perhaps we’ll have paths leading us through fields of wildflowers and under lush green canopies throughout San Francisco.
Here’s a couple snapshots of the workday, and if anyone has any more snapshots, of this workday or anything else you’d like to share with SF Urban Riders, please visit our flickr group, and upload a few pictures to share.
